MANILA, Philippines, Nov. 29, 2024 /VB/ — Are you experiencing numbness, pain, tingling, or pins and needles in your hands and feet? It is important to pay attention to these symptoms as 8 out of 10 patients with Peripheral Neuropathy go undiagnosed, leading to worsening of their condition.
In line with World Diabetes Day 2024, P&G Health, makers of Neurobion, organized a gathering of health experts from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia to discuss the latest research on diagnosing and treating Peripheral Neuropathy (PN) in Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes. With 1 in 2 diabetics and 1 in 10 pre-diabetics suffering from PN and its painful symptoms, and an estimated 8 out of 10 patients remaining undiagnosed, it is crucial to raise awareness about PN among the general population, healthcare professionals, and pharmacists.
During the P&G Health Asia Pacific Media Roundtable in Manila, Philippines, renowned health experts and P&G representatives discussed the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of PN. Additionally, P&G Health introduced the NEW NEUROMETER, a simple digital self-screening tool for patients to assess their risk for nerve damage.
Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 is the leading cause of PN, and its prevalence is increasing, closely linked to the rise in the number of diabetics. Health experts emphasized the need for early detection of PN, as symptoms can develop slowly and go unnoticed until they become severe and impact daily activities.
P&G Health’s efforts to provide tools like the NEW Neurometer Pro for early diagnosis and treatment were highlighted during the event. The tool, created by PN experts from multiple countries, aims to empower patients to take proactive steps towards improving their quality of life by addressing PN symptoms early.
New findings from the NENOIN Clinical Study revealed the effectiveness of a fixed dose combination of neurotropic B vitamins (B1, B6, and B12) in relieving symptoms of Peripheral Neuropathy. This treatment showed significant improvement in symptoms such as pain, burning sensation, and numbness, enhancing the quality of life for consumers with mild to moderate PN.
Overall, the event emphasized the importance of educating the public about PN, its consequences, and the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment. By raising awareness and providing tools for early detection, P&G Health aims to improve patient care and empower individuals to take control of their health.
