The highly anticipated 2024 Malaysia E-Commerce Product Selection Expo has officially launched at MITEC, marking a significant milestone for Malaysia’s trade relations with China. With over 200 leading Chinese and local brands showcasing their products, the Expo aims to strengthen bilateral economic ties and expand business opportunities across Southeast Asia. This event, celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, projects a transaction volume of RM60 million.
The Expo, organized by JMM Holding and JMM Exhibition, features nearly 200 exhibitors from Malaysia and China, representing various sectors such as new energy solutions, smart electrical technologies, fashion, lifestyle products, and home innovations. With 80% of exhibitors from China and 20% from Malaysia, the event highlights the strong interest from Chinese companies in leveraging Malaysia as a gateway to Southeast Asia.
The Expo also emphasizes Malaysia’s role as a hub for regional trade, attracting international business delegations from China and Pakistan. The event coincides with China’s extension of a 30-day visa-free policy for Malaysian citizens, further enhancing cross-border partnerships.
Aligned with Malaysia’s ESG priorities, the Expo showcases cutting-edge green technologies in line with the country’s renewable energy goals. It is expected to facilitate RM60 million in trade transactions and attract over 15,000 visitors over three days.
Supported by key industry associations and partnerships with local multiracial live-streamers, the Expo blends online and offline shopping experiences to boost trade volumes. The event sets the stage for future growth and expansion across Southeast Asia, strengthening bilateral trade ties and positioning Malaysia as a key regional business hub.
